Storyboarding - what is it?

In this context, storyboarding refers to the screenplay (written scene plan), script (formulated text that is spoken) as well as scene sketches (schematic image representation). Depending on which format is chosen, the elements can be used to a greater or lesser extent. The following steps are useful:

(1) Create a rough concept,
(2) Plan individual scenes (image and sound),
(3) write a script and
(4) create sketches.

Depending on how much time you have available, you can formulate individual steps in more or less detail. Steps 1-3 should ALWAYS be done. Step 4 is helpful, but rather optional. If you are recording in a group or team, you should go through the process together or coordinate very closely. A more detailed storyboard is very useful for this.

All word processing programs (Word, Writer, text editor, etc.) are suitable tools; you can also structure the text yourself. However, it is advisable to depict all scenes individually and to plan and formulate both image elements and text elements.

Two timelines are important: one within the video and one corresponding to its creation. Some scenes may be recorded first, but only appear in the video in the middle or at the end. These sequences should already be considered during the planning stage.
