Reflecting on learning
Every person learns differently. This results in heterogeneous learning groups with different learning types. Digitally enriched learning opportunities can address this situation in a special way, because many methods of creating individualization options are made significantly easier in the digital space, for example:
- Provision of different types of media for the same content
- Enabling individualized study achievements
- Application of different working methods
- Integration of skills and learning content

Create individualisation through a wide range of offerings
There are usually several ways to achieve a goal. Using digital tools makes it much easier to provide a variety of activities for working on content. By giving learners freedom of choice, they can express their strengths and address their learning needs in a targeted manner. For example, use a folder to provide a variety of options for a particular question.
Example: Understanding a technical term:
- Provide your lecture slides explaining the term.
- Share a list of YouTube videos explaining the term.
- Show different definitions from different reference books.
- Find a good image or infographic, or have learners find one.
- Show a mind map in which the term is classified, or have learners create one.
- Have learners write a glossary entry.
...
By allowing learners to choose which material they want to use to explore the technical term, you create space for individualization. This significantly increases the likelihood that there will be something for every type of learner, and thus also increases the likelihood of learning success.

Enabling individualised learning paths with preconditions
With the help of learning paths, you can adaptively design the learning environment according to the learning level.
- Guide your learners according to their individual learning needs by linking the visibility of objects to prerequisites.
The project to create a self-study course on scientific work makes extensive use of the prerequisite functions to support students' learning paths and to assess their learning progress at specific times.

Provide targeted learning recommendations based on learning objectives
The “learning objective driven course view” setting allows you to structure your entire course based on learning objectives. Learners receive individual feedback on their strengths in various areas of competence based on their test results.
- Guide learners by categorizing content in a targeted manner and providing individualized recommendations.
- Visualize individual learning progress with the help of progress bars.
- Structure your course according to the relevant learning objectives and thus create transparency regarding requirements.
