The portfolio for documenting the learning process

In the portfolio, learners can reflect on and present their learning process on several pages. In a learning context, the portfolio usually represents a collection of learning outcomes and an accompanying reflection on learning success. In some settings, the revision of a product based on feedback and reflection is also documented.
With the help of the portfolio template, teachers can support the structuring of the reflection process, for example, through sample pages with tasks, example entries, and supporting notes.

The blog as a tool for self-reflection

The blog is ideal for free reflection. Its diary-like character encourages authors to write entries that focus primarily on aspects relevant to them. By tagging individual articles, it is easy to establish content-related links between individual posts. A subscription function allows the blog to be shared with the learning group or teacher for daily reading. Blogs are particularly suitable for reflecting on the learning process over a longer period of time and for scenarios in which reflection is carried out in a more open manner.

Reflection through self-assessment

By having learners reflect on their learning process in a survey for self-assessment, teachers can gain a good overall impression of the learners' reflection process. However, the aggregation of such results works primarily with numerical values resulting from the assignment in question items. Self-assessment in the survey is therefore highly structured and standardized. This offers the advantage that learners have points of reference for reflection, but it also means that free reflection may be neglected.

Tip: If you design the self-assessment as a test question, the reflection in the self-assessment can be combined with recommendations for further learning content through learning objectives. An example project for this is [iln =“1843119”]Eduscrum digital[/iln].
